I was looking back at some of my older articles in Image publications yesterday and this one is a personal favourite as it has potential to show people that what we do is legit and really does work.
No BS, No Pills or Potions, No quick fixes, just hard work, proper nutritional methodologies and correct programming of our classes.
It’s not rocket science, but there are so many NOT QUALIFIED cowboys out their opening up fitness facilities. People are being guided by the cheapest cost and can then often be run up the road of poor nutrition information, incorrect technique when training (which can cause injuries) and terrible over all advice.
It reminds me of a story I recall where I was looking for qualifications for one of our Bootcamp Coaches.
I thought I’d experiment and see what the cheapest, quickest one was.
My findings will shock you.
So apparently, from the comfort of your own couch, you can ring up said fitness instructor college and book their online Fitness Instructor course. (online in itself is a farce as most of this job needs practical experience).
So you’ve paid for your course (still on the couch eating a donut), you ring up a fitness insurance company, and ask for a student membership. You ask for a letter from said Fitness Instructor ‘college’ and ask for a letter to say you have started their course (Or paid for it, not having moved off the couch).
You now have Started an Online Fitness Instructor Course and have a student insurance policy.
You can now open your own Gym and become a personal trainer.
SHOCKING.
Some sort of regulation needs to come in to stop this happening as people WILL GET HURT.
It really gets my blood boiling.
It completely belittles the work of all those genuine PT’s out there that have great knowledge and can genuinely help people.
So, what I’m saying is, do your homework and research before getting drawn in on price.
