Getting to your fitness classes and working out is hard

Sticking to your diet plan and changing bad eating habits is harder

Not loving who you see in the mirror is hardest

One of the hardest parts of my job, is convincing people that the things they have to sacrifice when embarking on any health and fitness program, will always be easier than the pain they may feel in their current situation, particularly if they have been struggling with their insecurities and self-confidence.

Trying to open people’s minds to cutting down on their likely massive daily carbohydrate intake or reducing foods that may be causing inflammation, is not always possible, as they just aren’t prepared to sacrifice these things.

“Cutting out a food group is not healthy”

“What do I wrap around my food when cutting out certain breads”

Some of the common things I hear when people don’t realise that there’s actual sacrifice to making changes to their health. We actually don’t ask people to cut out food groups, but unfortunately people regurgitate things that they hear, incorrectly.

They just aren’t ready to change yet.

In these cases, people have yet to realise that the short-term pleasure of eating these foods is not worth the long-term pain that it causes in terms of getting the results they initially came to us for.

Such as “I want to lose weight and tone up”

No, you want to look better naked.

How badly do you want results?

I really want them.

We’ll see how bad when it’s time to cut out Brennan’s bread.

When the realisation hits that were they are now and were they need to get to has a massive gulf, they realise to bridge the gap, things need to change, and they then become more willing to do what it takes, the penny finally drops!

What comes with this is sacrifice, preparation, will-power (initially), work ethic, hard work and a willingness to commit and see something through, especially when there’s tough times.

And there’s always tough times, there’s always a time you’ll fall off the wagon, there’s always hard times when you want to eat your body weight in pizza.

That is normal, perfectly normal, if anyone tells you otherwise, they are most likely telling fibs.

They become less and less over time as you see the benefits for yourself. How much more energy you have to play with the kids, be more efficient at work, be kinder to your spouse, be more tolerant with your kids, have better libido and generally be a nicer human being.

But back to you NOW.

Your current regime is not working and doing the same thing over and over…

And over, and expecting different results is the definition of insanity.

Rinse and repeat every January.

When did you start this regime again? Unfortunately, this is not enough of an investment in yourself these days.

You, your family and your kids deserve more. Imagine you, but performing at a higher level?

It starts with educating yourself on your diet and what’s going to nourish and bring down inflammation in your body, the two biggest things we are hell bent on instilling into our clients for long term sustainable change and optimal health and fat loss.

The two things that are going to help you stay healthy, avoid disease and be a happier healthier version of yourself

Getting to your fitness classes on a dark wet, winter night is something that most people will use as an excuse not to go. This is where you need to make it a habit by committing to it for an initial 4-6 weeks in a supportive environment to give you optimal chance to break old habits and form new ones.

This will always beat will-power hands down. Having a bunch of like-minded people ready to be your crutch and ask how your day was when you get there, can really help with your initial fitness program bedding in period.

As I always say, being consistent is the key to reaching your health and fitness goals. You’ve gotta make the changes, and stick with them, even when the times are tough and the initial mood you committed to these changes in has left you.

Whether you realise it or not yet. The lesser “Hard” is the jumping out of your comfort zone, investing in your body and mind. (Your two most important assets).

Within that process there is sacrifices, it’s a given.

Within the process of change you will feel overwhelmed, for sure.

Within the process of change it will be difficult/hard, absolutely.

Within the time of craving foods’ you are used to eating, there will be a struggle, no doubt.

But living the rest of your life not willing to look at yourself in the mirror naked in the fear of what you’ll see…

That is the ultimate hard.

Choose yours.

We are here when you need us.
